The Glebe is a historic, sought-after Ottawa neighbourhood known for its traditional heritage homes, leafy streets, and vibrant setting. Our location on Bank Street gives you easy access to a thriving assortment of arts venues, farmers’ markets, shops, and eateries, not to mention the expansive sports stadium just across the street. Ottawa Hospital is a 10-minute drive away. Other notable neighbourhood attractions include community programs at Abbotsford House, the attractive green spaces of Lansdowne Park, and of course, the Rideau Canal. 

Things to do in ​​The Glebe

You’ll find lots of interesting venues to explore in and around The Glebe community. Go for a bite at popular local eateries like Meadows Diner, Pub Italia, Kettleman’s Bagels, or Mati, or stop in at a craft brewery to taste what’s on tap. Browse Bank Street’s independent shops or simply enjoy a side trip to see the neighbourhood’s well-kept historic homes, some dating back to the 1800s. TD Place is home to exciting games of football, hockey, curling and other sports. The famous Canadian Tulip Festival takes place just down the road at Commissioners Park, or you can enjoy the Ornamental Gardens or Tropical Greenhouse sites at the Central Experimental Farm. The many attractions of downtown Ottawa are just a short drive away, including the Canadian War Museum, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Canadian Museum of Nature. You’ll find a great shopping centre at CF Rideau Centre and people-watching at Byward Market.
